The Enteric Nervous System (ENS)

Your stomach really does have a mind of its own!

The Enteric Nervous System (ENS) is quite literally the brain in your gut. Composed of neurons and glia just like the Central Nervous System (CNS), the ENS is involved in just about everything the gut does: stimulating digestion,  propelling your food down the GI tract, and coordinating defense against invaders.

An amazing system, the ENS can operate the gut completely independently from the brain. However, it is now known the ENS and the CNS talk to each other, in an intricate connection known as the Gut-Brain Axis.

We celebrate the ENS with our flagship coffee: ENSpresso

A med-dark roast blend made from the highest quality beans, ENSpresso, like the actual ENS, provides a stimulating and invigorating jolt to your GI tract and your brain.
